New Ways to Love Your Country A.K.A. Being a Different Kind of Citizen

There are many ways to be a citizen of the United States. Too many of us are a passive kind of citizen, not having opinions about the events of the day nor connecting with our neighbors intent on improving our nation. That is why I'm joining Joan Blades, Wes Boyd and Glenn Beck in calling for a more active type of citizenry.

Interested in a new way of being a citizen? Here is how you can start:
a) Talk to your friends and neighbors about political issues
b) Vote and encourage or help others to vote
c) Stay informed and inform the media
d) Get involved in local government
e) Stand up for what you believe in

None of these ideas are really new. In fact, most of them were inspired by Ms. Blades and M. Boyd. However, with a little weekly effort, I'm confident that we can all be a different kind - a better kind - of citizen.
